Modeling Reality with Virtual Worlds

I think the virtual world can be mainly used for education, which can give students different learning experience. For example, when the teacher is explaining historical events, the virtual world can be used to take the students to experience the scene. Experiencing that feeling on the spot will greatly improve students' understanding of knowledge. Virtual worlds can also be used for military purposes, training pilots to fight a real war in a virtual world, improving military quality and training. Virtual battlefields can save  a lot of money. The other thing is that the virtual world can be used for medical purposes. When an intern doctor is just starting to work, the virtual world can help  train how to do surgery. Rapid improvement of clinical experience. Pros: virtual world is that it brings a lot of convenience to human beings, whether it is education, military, medical treatment, or entertainment. Have greatly improved efficiency and quality. Cons: virtual world is easy to be addicted to the virtual world. For example, when using the virtual world for education, a large number of young people will be addicted to it, cut off from social communication and isolate themselves. In the future, the virtual world will greatly improve the development of health care and education, and the design industry and tourism industry will be greatly affected. In the future, when you decide to travel to a place, you watch a advertising video, you can experience the scenery and environment of that place with virtual technology.

After this semester study and research, I know the diversity of new media. Let me suggest a new media I would like to have a virtual world application on my phone. The app works with Google maps to allow people to socialize in a virtual world when they don't want to go out or when they facing a situation like now. Every street and every store will including in this fake world , in this virtual world where you can really walk down the street with your friends, or go shopping; Everything consumed in the virtual world will shipping to home. This can greatly meet the shopping needs of many people, can also experience the feeling of on-site shopping, people won't be bored because can't go out.

Creativity and New Media

As I mentioned in the beginning of this class, I like traveling to different places. When I want to make an imaginative and creative video, the first idea I have is to make a clip of my traveling video. Therefore, I put together video of my 2019 trip to Montreal, Cancun, and Niagara Falls. I put three videos together so when you watch it , you can watch three videos in the same window at the same time. I used VideoCollege this application on my phone to make this video. Blog VS Wiki

Blogs are primarily for personal or individual use. Blogs provide a platform for one user. Users can use blogs to spread their ideas, share their lives and write articles. All internal use in a blog is based on the ideas of the author alone. A personal presentation platform where one person has permission to write articles, change text, and upload photos and videos. Anything the author thinks is interesting can be demonstrated through blogs, which are also limited the idea of the content. Wiki is different it provides a platform for a group of users. Every user on a wiki is a partner. They can write their own parts, modify others' parts, upload photos and update data. This is not the work of an individual, it is the work of a team. Wiki is also a platform for information exchange. Everyone can get the information they need and have the right to change or update the wrong information.             In today's I...
